Colin Shields

Colin Shields is head trainer at Total Performance Fitness. Colin has been a professional ice hockey player for over 12 years and has been a member of the GB national team for over 15 seasons. Currently playing for the Belfast Giants, he is their all time leading goal and point scorer. Drafted to the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers in 2000, he is one of only two players to receive such an honour. Colin was an all American for the University of Maine where he attended on a full athletic ice hockey scholarship. With over 18 years of strength and conditioning experience in the sport of ice hockey, Colin has been training both professional and amateur athletes for over 9 years. After mentoring under fitness gurus TR Goodman and Karl List in California, Colin now brings this knowledge and experience to the UK.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Certified Personal Trainer

  • Over 17 years of Strength and Conditioning experience as a professional athlete

  • Certified Functional Strength Coach

  • 9 years of Coaching and Training junior and professional athletes in North America and UK

  • Mentored under fitness experts TR Goodman (www.procampsports.com) and Karl List (www.karllist.com) in Los Angeles

  • Current Professional Ice Hockey Player for Belfast Giants

  • Current head of off ice training for Belfast Junior Giants

  • Constructed and coached off season training programs for Belfast Giants and Great Britain International players for the past 6 seasons
